Why is the BUM BUM BALM zinc-free? What is wrong with zinc?  Because most of our customers are cloth diaper users, we have chosen not to use zinc oxide in our BUM BUM BALM.  Zinc is difficult to wash out of cloth diapers, and it creates a 'waterproofing' on the cloth diaper which causes urine, etc. to run out the sides of the diaper. BUM BUM BALM makes a great alternative to zinc creams!

What steps does your company take to be environmentally friendly? We recycle! Wherever we can, we reuse and reduce. We package our orders in recycled boxes with unbleached tissue. We print on recycled paper, and recycle our ink cartridges. We also encourage our customers to recycle their empty tins in the blue box at home, and reuse the empty Mini Kit box as packaging for a future gift to someone else! All of Dimpleskins Naturals Balms & Salves are packaged in tins made of recycled materials, food-touch safe. We also make our own products in our own little factory, which undergo a slow melting process-no big industrial emmissions here!

What is the shelf life of your products since they are 100% natural? Our Balms and Salves have undergone microbiology and shelf life testing in a professional lab, for a minimum life of one year. All of Dimpleskins Naturals products are made without the use of chemical preservatives. We avoid the addition of water in our products as it promotes bacteria growth, unless you add a chemical preservative (which we are against) or use up the product within a few weeks. To remain chemical-free, our products are all in a solid balm form, and are naturally preserved with pure, organic Vitamin E oil (Tocopherol, derived from pure Soybean oil). We recommend you take the following steps to ensure the quality and extend the shelf life of your Balm:

• Use product with clean hands
• Keep out of sunlight and away from extreme heat as it will melt the product and harm both the vitamins and essential oils
• Avoid water entering the product as it may promote the growth of bacteria.

• Keep the lid on to avoid dust or dirt entering the tin, and to preserve the life of the Essential Oils.

What happens if my baby eats some of the product? We use only pure or organic ingredients, all derived from vegetable and plant oils. Below is a list of each of our ingredients, and each is listed on the product's label. The ingredients are non toxic, and most are even edible!

Why are the Boo Boo Goo and Sniffles Eucalyptus Rub not for use on newborns? Both of these products contain pure essential oils which are recommended for children over the age of 6 months. That being said, we only use less than a 1% dilution of these oils in our products, so they are still extremely mild.

What are your ingredients? How can you make an effective product without synthetic chemicals? We want you to know exactly what you are putting on your baby's delicate skin, and for this reason we list every single ingredient on our labels. We use 100% pure or organic raw ingredients, which have not been altered or preserved with synthetic chemicals.

Calendula Oil (Calendula officinalis), infused in Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil): Organic. Calendula Oil is obtained from the Pot Marigold flower. Has natural skin healing, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, moisturizing, and anti-aging properties. It is useful in skin care to help heal rashes, cuts, eczema, and scars. Sunflower oil is an edible oil extracted from Sunflower seeds. It has a smooth texture and is high in fatty acids.

Olive Pomace Oil (Olea europaea): 100% pure. An edible, vegetable oil. A blend of pomace and virgin grades, extracted from the olive. Used in soap and skin care for it’s slippery, soothing properties.
